Every year, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) pairs up with Vogue Magazine to generate income in order to fund financial efforts to award up and coming designers. Hundreds of designers compete for business mentoring and a $300,000 prize from CFDA/Vogue to get their business running. The recipients of the awards are selected by a committee of fashion industry experts, and are chosen based on their demonstrated talent and their capability for future success in the fashion world. This past Tuesday, the winners of the 2012 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award were announced at an elegant New York City dinner. In first place, came the talented Greg Chait, creator of The Elder Statesman. Runners up included jewelry designer, Jennifer Meyer Maguire, and shoe designer Tabitha Simmons. Last year’s winners, Joseph Altuzarra and Pamela Love proved to be a smashing success, and we can only hope for the same success for our 2012 winners.

Congratulations from BTAC to Chait, Maguire, and Simmons!
